UVA Darden Launches Application for Executive MBA, Part-Time MBA

20 September 2023

The University of Virginia Darden School of Business has launched its application for admission to the Executive MBA Class of 2026 and the Part-Time MBA Class of 2027, both enrolling in August 2024. Both programs benefit from Darden’s top-ranked faculty, No. 1 ranked education experience and outstanding career support.

The Executive MBA program, which features the Executive MBA (EMBA) and Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) formats, and the Part-Time MBA program are both based at UVA Darden DC Metro in Rosslyn, Virginia, conveniently located minutes from Reagan National Airport and Union Station and featuring views of the national monuments. Each program is designed to fit into the lives of working professionals.

"The Darden School offers multiple admissions rounds for both the Executive MBA and Part-Time MBA programs, and applicants are encouraged to apply whenever they feel their application is strongest."

Executive MBA students earn an MBA over 21 months while continuing to work, with a mix of in-person weekend residencies at UVA Darden DC Metro in Rosslyn, Virginia and virtual class sessions. The program also includes meaningful residencies at Darden Grounds in Charlottesville as well as week-long global residencies in locations across all major continents.

EMBA and Part-Time MBA programs include residencies at Darden Grounds in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Part-Time MBA offers a mix of in-person weekday evening and virtual classes and a flexible timeline for completion. Students also participate in two week-long residencies in Charlottesville with opportunities for global travel on an elective basis.

Regardless of format, all Darden MBA students earn the same degree. Moreover, events in Charlottesville and Rosslyn allow for collaboration and networking across formats, and Executive MBA and Part-Time MBA students have opportunities to serve in leadership roles and engage outside of the classroom through a robust set of student clubs and organizations.

In August, Darden welcomed the newest cohorts of both programs, including the second class of Part-Time MBA students. In the Class of 2024, Executive MBA students have an average of 13 years of work experience, and Part-Time MBAs have an average of five-and-a-half years of experience. See the Executive MBA Class of 2025 profile and the Part-Time MBA Class of 2026 profile pages for additional insights .

The Darden School offers multiple admissions rounds for both the Executive MBA and Part-Time MBA programs, and applicants are encouraged to apply whenever they feel their application is strongest. Qualified applicants are invited to interview with a member of the Darden Admissions team, and admissions decisions are typically made within three weeks of relevant application deadlines.

Darden remains committed to test flexibility — including test waivers for select candidates — in the admissions process across its MBA formats.

There are dedicated scholarship resources for Executive MBA and Part-Time MBA applicants, and all applicants are considered for these awards no matter when an application is received, although more scholarship funding is typically available earlier in the cycle.
