UVA President Jim Ryan and Darden School Dean Scott Beardsley issued messages on 11 March providing important updates on actions taken in response to the spread of the novel coronavirus.
University of Virginia President Jim Ryan on 11 March issued an update on the University’s response to the novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19, and plans for the remainder of the spring semester.
In conjunction with the update, UVA launched a new coronavirus website to provide the latest updates and resources: www.virginia.edu/coronavirus
Ryan’s message announced that UVA is moving all courses online for the spring semester and urged students to return home. His message concluded: “I cannot pretend, obviously, that this is how I hoped this semester would unfold. No one can. But I eagerly await the ingenuity, compassion, and kindness that this common challenge will surely unlock within our community. If there were ever a time to be both great and good, this is surely it.”
