Donors Lift UVA Darden Annual Fund to new Record
The loyal support of University of Virginia Darden School of Business alumni and friends led to a fifth consecutive year of record-breaking results for the Darden Annual Fund. The results include:
$5.1 million raised, a 3 percent increase over last year’s record-breaking total
42 percent alumni participation, another increase over last year and the third highest annual fund participation rate of any U.S. business school
750
Darden Society
members, a 4 percent increase in members who provided leadership gifts
Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund fuel emerging priorities and provide essential operating funds, enabling Darden to seize opportunities and support innovation. Among the many areas these funds support, they are used to create Darden’s education experience — the world’s best (The Economist, 2011−14), provide funding for nearly 25 percent of all merit-based scholarships, secure top faculty, empower faculty research, support the School’s global experiences, and enhance technology used in and outside the classroom.
“We thank our alumni and friends for continuing to step forward on behalf of Darden year after year,” said Locke Ogens, senior executive director of the Darden School Foundation and Strategic Relations. “The Annual Fund allows Darden to move nimbly in its effort to best prepare new leaders to improve the world. Without their generous gifts, the School could not succeed in this important mission.”
