Photos: Capturing the Beauty of UVA Darden in Spring
By Caroline Mackey
There’s nothing quite like spring in Charlottesville, including at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
Each week this season so far, I walked Darden’s Grounds with my Canon camera, capturing bursts of color, the spreading green and the quiet beauty that emerges around every corner.
From the blooming trees and shrubs in the Tahija Arboretum & LaCross Botanical Gardens to the vibrant plantings around Saunders Hall and The Forum Hotel, Darden’s landscape is alive with renewal.
Here’s a glimpse of the season through my lens:
Catmint and peonies line the walkway connecting The Forum Hotel and Saunders Hall.
Bright yellow daffodils signal spring’s arrival outside Saunders Hall.
Raindrops linger on the petals of a magnolia near Saunders.
Saucer magnolias draw attention outside the Tahija Arboretum & LaCross Botanical Gardens.
A Darden banner catches the spring breeze outside Saunders Hall.
Dogwood blossoms reflect in the pond at the Tahija Arboretum and LaCross Botanical Gardens.
Spring daffodils in full bloom welcome visitors to the arboretum and botanical gardens.
A burst of purple irises brightens the entrance to The Forum Hotel.
A canopy of early spring cherry blossoms warms the entrance to Smith Hall.
