Bloomberg Businessweek Ranks UVA Darden in Top 5, No. 1 Public Two Years Running

The University of Virginia Darden School of Business is ranked the No. 5 Full-Time MBA program in the United States by the Bloomberg Businessweek 2024-25 Best Business Schools ranking. The School also achieved No. 1 among programs at public universities. This is the second year in a row that Darden achieved Top 5 overall and No. 1 among public business schools, adding to a year of all-time high rankings. 

Darden ranked No. 3 in compensation, No. 6 in learning and No. 12 in entrepreneurship and rose above Harvard and Wharton to secure No. 5 overall in the ranking. The top schools in the ranking are (in the following order): Stanford, Chicago, Kellogg, Tuck, Darden, Harvard and Wharton.

The Bloomberg Businessweek ranking measures Full-Time MBA programs, using inputs from graduating students, recent alumni and employers who recruit MBAs to determine the results.

In addition to metrics, the ranking includes a section highlighting quotes from students and alumni on “what’s best” about the MBA program. Quotes about Darden included:

  • “The community of talented and caring students and teachers. Plus a great location.”
  • “The curriculum and case method aimed at developing general managers provided me with the skills needed to accelerate my career.”
  • “The faculty are committed to students and the classroom experience.”

This ranking follows a suit in a series of high-achieving ranking results for the School, including 10 Top 10 results in the Princeton Review 2024 rankings, highest ever rankings in the 2024 U.S. News & World Report rankings, and No. 1 public MBA program in the 2023-2024 Poets & Quants ranking.
