UVA Darden Partners With IBM to Launch Online Program in Digital Strategy on Coursera

The University of Virginia Darden School of Business and IBM have partnered to release a series of courses on technology and digital transformation.

The new Digital Strategy Specialization, offered on the Coursera platform, is designed to provide foundational skills for workers who want to understand the business context for new technologies, and for business managers who want to understand the technologies that are changing how they work.

The six-course Specialization will include three courses from Darden professors on digital transformation and strategy, and three courses from some of IBM’s leading thinkers on cloud computing, artificial intelligence and data science.

The specific courses include:

  • “Introduction to Digital Transformation 1”
  • “Introduction to Digital Transformation 2”
  • “The Strategist’s Challenge”
  • “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI)”
  • “Introduction to Cloud Computing”
  • “Introduction to Data Analytics”

Darden professors teaching in the program include Mike Lenox, Jared Harris, Raj Venkatesan and Yael Grushka-Cockayne.

“Proximity to practice is in the DNA of Darden, and we are energized by our collaboration with IBM to bring the most current technical knowledge combined with the latest research in the use of these technologies,” said Anne Trumbore, executive director of digital and open enrollment at Darden Executive Education & Lifelong Learning. “This program will provide learners with the opportunity to develop the technical and management knowledge necessary for 21st century careers”

The Specialization is available online to learners around the world who are interested in preparing for the workplace of the future. Learners can earn a non-credit certificate upon completion of each course.
