UVA Darden Announces Admissions Events in India

Representatives from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business senior leadership team will travel to India in November to meet with prospective students interested in the School’s full-time MBA and Executive MBA. Many students in the Executive MBA program will also be in India in November as part of a global residency in the country.

Darden, whose full-time MBA program was recently ranked No. 5 in the United States by Bloomberg Businessweek, is currently recruiting for the Class of 2022, with programs beginning in August 2020. For the full-time MBA, the Round 2 application deadline is 6 January and the Round 3 deadline is 6 April. For the Executive MBA, deadlines to apply to the Class of 2022 occur monthly through June.

New Delhi Networking Event, 2:30 p.m., 16 November

Mumbai Networking Event, 2:30 p.m., 17 November

Bangalore Networking Event, 8 p.m., 18 November

Each year, students with international backgrounds make up roughly a third of the Darden class, playing a vital role in the classroom and the life of the School, contributing greatly to the education experience The Economist has ranked No. 1 in the U.S. nine years in a row. Many students benefit from the Darden South Asia Society, which provides students interested in culture and business of the South Asia region with a forum to pursue cultural, professional and social opportunities.

Scholarship opportunities at the Darden School have increased dramatically in recent years, and the School offers more than 150 merit-based scholarships, most of which do not require an additional application for consideration. Scholarship recipients come from all different backgrounds, including India.

For the Darden full-time MBA Class of 2019, 94 percent of international students with nonpermanent U.S. work authorization accepted a job offer within three months of graduation, netting an average salary of $128,835 and an average bonus of $32,291.

International student employment outcomes received a boost from those who took advantage of Darden’s new specialization in management science, which is a designated STEM degree that improved their chances of employment in the United States.
