UVA Darden Announces Admissions Events in Brazil, Chile

Representatives from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business Admissions team will travel to locations in Brazil and Chile in November to meet with prospective students interested in the School’s full-time MBA and Executive MBA formats.

Darden is currently recruiting for the Class of 2022, with programs beginning in August 2020. For the full-time MBA, the Round 2 application deadline is 6 January and the Round 3 deadline is 6 April. For the Executive MBA, deadlines to apply to the Class of 2022 occur monthly through June.

Each year, students with international backgrounds make up roughly a third of the Darden class, playing a vital role in the classroom and the life of the School, contributing greatly to the education experience The Economist has ranked No. 1 in the world eight years in a row. Many students from South America contribute to and benefit from the Latin American Student Association, which provides students interested in Latin American cultures with a forum to pursue cultural, professional and social opportunities.

Scholarship opportunities at the Darden School have increased dramatically in recent years, and the School offers more than 150 merit-based scholarships, most of which do not require an additional application for consideration.  Our scholarship recipients come from all different backgrounds, including Latin American.

For the Darden full-time MBA Class of 2019, 94 percent of international students with nonpermanent U.S. work authorization accepted a job offer within three months of graduation, netting an average salary of $128,835 and an average bonus of $32,291.

International student employment outcomes received a boost from those who took advantage of Darden’s new specialization in management science, which is a designated STEM degree that improved their chances of employment in the United States.

Ranked No. 3 for highest average starting salary and bonus among recent U.S. MBA program graduates by U.S. News & World Report, the Darden School hosts hundreds of on-Grounds recruiting events each year, connecting students with recruiters at top companies from around the world. Top hiring companies of international students include Bain & Co., Boston Consulting Group, Google, McKinsey & Co. and Microsoft. Additional top hiring companies for recent Latin American graduates include Walmart eCommerce, Amazon, Facebook and Barclays Bank.
