Editor’s Pick: Improving the World Starts With Improving Home

By Dave Hendrick

Jean-Marie Menga (MBA ’16) came to Darden with plans to move into a finance career, but also to find news ways to continue to give back to his home country of Cameroon.

At Darden, Menga worked with Professor Bobby Parmar to devise a plan to best create sustainable opportunities for Cameroon, efforts that may improve transportation, agriculture and housing.

After graduation, Menga will work as an investment banker in New York. He even used his signing bonus to buy a second 66-passenger bus for his hometown. He believes the job provides the best opportunity to develop his business skills, learn how to manage different types of businesses, understand the financial markets and send capital home, all of which will help execute his vision for development projects in Cameroon.
