Darden Executive Education to Host Innovation Summit in Washington DC

Darden Executive Education — a top-ranked global provider of short courses, online courses and custom solutions for leading companies and organizations operated by the University of Virginia Darden School Foundation — is hosting its second annual Innovation Summit in the Washington, D.C., area on 16 May.

This year’s summit, titled Growing and Enabling Innovators, will bring together business leaders to explore the future of innovation. Darden School Professor Ed Hess will introduce research from his new book, Humility Is the New Smart: Rethinking Human Excellence in the Smart Machine Age, and lead discussion around questions, such as:

  • What is innovation and how does it occur?
  • How can a leader set up an organization to be innovative?
  • How can organizations create an environment where true innovators thrive?

Humility Is the New Smart is Hess’ most recent installment on innovation and leadership in a new age of technological disruption, a subject on which he has authored several books. A luminary and sought-after consultant in the innovation space, Hess has worked with and researched innovative companies, including Best Buy, Bridgewater Associates, Harris Corp., Intuit, Sysco Corp. and more.
