Two of the new courses respond to rapid changes in the field of marketing:

  • Strategic Marketing Management, to be held at Darden in Charlottesville 23-27 September, will equip participants with the essential toolkit for developing successful marketing strategies to help create profitable long-term customer relationships. The course will be taught by three of Darden’s marketing faculty members, who are experts in business-to-business marketing, competitive strategy, emotional reactions to advertising and marketing metrics, among other topics.
  • Marketing Analytics: Effective Resource Allocation will help executives translate marketing data into organizational action. The course will take place in Washington, D.C., 10-12 December. Participants will learn to use state-of-the-art analytics to examine how different marketing investments affect sales and profits, to create managerial processes to translate model recommendations into organizational action and to ensure continued improvement in both analytics and processes.

The third new course, in the area of Strategy and Innovation, will help executives trigger growth in their organizations:

  • Drive Business Growth and Innovation: Mindsets, Behaviors and Tools will take place 27-31 October in Charlottesville. Participants will learn to develop a mindset for growth; create an internal, aligned growth system; identify growth opportunities and launch experiments; and create and manage a diversified growth portfolio. Professors Ed Hess and Jeanne Liedtka will share research from the recent book they co-authored, The Physics of Business Growth.

“Great leaders never stop learning,” said Colin Winter, senior director of Darden Executive Education Open-Enrollment Programs. “They pursue knowledge as relentlessly as they do results. At Darden, we immerse them in an environment that challenges their thinking and expands their toolkit for maximizing their impact, while creating the organization and career they desire.”
